GameStop's $150 Pre-Order Edition Of Wolfenstein: The New Order Comes With Annoying Sticker Already Removed

In an effort to get gamers continuing to pay for games before they even know what they look like, GameStop’s newest pre-order promotion for Wolfenstein: The New Order will give them the option of having the annoying price sticker removed at the time of purchase. The infamous stickers that have claimed the lives of countless otherwise flawless video game cases is something that GameStop says they would be happy to expertly remove if you would just pay in full for that $150 collector’s edition before you have a chance to see anything other than pre-rendered trailers.

While the majority of gamers will probably be disappointed when they discover that the newest Wolfenstein game isn’t the fine-tuned trailers and mostly scripted gameplay they’ve seen up to this point, GameStop believes they will be happier without having to remove that god awful sticker on their own. “To us it seems like a fair trade,” said GameStop PR Executive Marissa Cauldron, “we want your money - all of it - and you want to keep your case intact and not looking like you picked it up off the street after a moose licked it.”

Through a mix of a proprietary anti-stick spray and being really fucking careful, employees will quickly tear off the stickers in front of the customer. This, GameStop says, is so gamers can retain the satisfying feeling of peeling stickers without the hassle of destroying the beautiful cases of their games. For a nominal fee, the used game retailer is also offering to add multiple layers of stickers to the case, transforming what would have once been an hour long grueling task resulting in pain and damages, instead results in GameStop getting an extra $5 per sticker.

GameStop has said that if this promotion succeeds, they will look into other ways of cornering gamers into pre-purchasing games such as offering a warranty protection several times until you break down and just get the damn thing to make them shut up and a free subscription to Game Informer if you promise to not just throw away the physical copy every month.
