Since the glitch was discovered last week, usage of the Milwaukee Bucks online has skyrocketed from two games per day to nearly six games per day, leading 2K Games to issue a statement that they plan to temporarily ban anyone who has used the Bucks during that time period on the grounds that they are obvious exploiters.
Outrage among gamers is slowly growing as several IGN forum users have stated that they’re sick of having to actually try against the once useless team. A user by the name JamesIzKing6969 even claims that a backup player managed a double-double when he played against them in his franchise mode, “I thought this was supposed to be a simulation, what hell?”, wrote Mr. 6969, “but when Ekpe fucking Udoh goes 11 for 20 with 14 rebounds I might as well go play Mario Kart or some other kiddie game.”
The NBA has also stepped in, hoping to stem the tide of sudden optimism from Bucks fans. “It’s bad enough they get to watch their team win in a video game,” NBA commissioner Adam Silver said, “the last thing we want is Milwaukee to get excited about their loathsome team winning in real life. We can’t have that many fans outside of Miami happy.” While the NBA hasn’t officially said anything directly to the developers about the issue, a truckload of deer carcases were reportedly delivered by an unmarked NBA team bus to their California headquarters yesterday afternoon.
