“We’ve tried dropping hints,” Green’s self-described best friend Tyler Miller told us, “like how Nintendo has never even mentioned Destiny or how there hasn’t been another trailer with the logo he swore he saw that fateful day. But it’s no use. There’s always an excuse. ‘Nintendo just forgot’ or ‘The logo was there it was just really faded. Must have been a production error.’ There’s just no getting through to the poor guy without bluntly telling him his dreams are dead.”
The teary-eyed Miller went on to tell us that Green's close group of friends are not sure how much longer they can keep the charade up, or when they’ll inevitably have to just break down and tell him “the only shooter you’re going to be playing for a long time is Call of Duty, pal.”
Another friend also claims that Green has gone so far as to pre-order the game at his local GameStop, and the employee even ran it through. “I guess I can’t blame them,” he told us, “GameStop isn’t the type that would deny a pre-order. When we looked at the receipt later it’s actually a pre-order for the PS4 but Louie is positive it’s just a typo and he’ll be playing with us all in September.”
Green himself, still believing that his chance to finally play the game he’s been dreaming about for over a year will come, states he is happy with his Wii U even if not many games have come out for it. “Look, I know it’s been slow,” he told us while wearing a faded t-shirt sporting the Destiny logo and an outline of a half-finished Destiny tattoo poking out from under his sleeve, “but there’s Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart, Wonderful 101, Zelda and soon Destiny. What more could you ask for! I mean, sure, if even one of these games weren’t there I’d probably kill myself but we won’t have to worry about that!”

Before we could end the interview, Green told us everything he’s looking forward to in Destiny - all the customization, the huge open planets to explore, unique implementation of the Gamepad and of course the feeling of finally playing a good online game with his friends on his Wii U. “They all went with PS4s and Xbox Ones but I told them I’m sticking with my friendly neighborhood Nintendo. They may not have delivered on an actual multiplayer experience where I can talk and play with my friends yet without being broken and total pain in the ass, but I’m sure Destiny will be the one! I can’t wait!”
Like his friends, we also did not have the heart to tell him the truth before we left his Wisconsin home. Upon his cheerful request we even shared our Wii U Nintendo IDs and promised to play with him when the game comes out. "It'll be great you guys," he yelled to us as we began to drive away, "this will finally fill the dark empty void in my soul created when my girlfriend, my parents, my lifelong mentor, my dog, and my cat died in that housefire last year! It'll be so much fun"
